  • Abstract
Norwegian distribution power systems are often composed of long distribution lines supplying households, communities and small industrial customers. When a significant amount of load contains power electronics devices, the harmonic pollution of these grids becomes semnificative. As the share of distributed generators in these power systems is increasing their impact on the power quality provided to end users has become evident. This paper will present an example of instantaneous compensation of harmonics based on a shunt active filtering solution in a Norwegian power distribution system. The impact of the increasing amount of distributed generation on harmonic content of supplied currents will be also assessed.
