Abstract :
In future telecommunications, optical circuit- and packet-techniques will perform routing and switching to ensure simultaneously transparency, optical continuity and bandwidth granularity. Network architectures, system demonstrators and advanced technologies have been developed in Europe under RACE to study and implement future high performance optical transport networks.
