Abstract :
The ear-to-ear on-body channel fading has been studied in the ISM-band. The ear-to-ear path gain was measured on six persons in an indoor environment for a duration of 200 s. The channel fading has been characterized in terms of empirical cumulative distribution functions (CDF), average fade duration (AFD), and level crossing rate (LCR) for each of the six persons. Seven probability distributions, including Rician and Nakagami-m were fitted by the use of maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). The distributions are ranked by their goodness-of-fit to the empirical CDFs.
