Abstract :
An automobile battery charging system appears at first to be a very simple system. It basically consists of a rechargeable storage battery that is used to start the vehicle and a generator which is used to ensure that the battery is recharged. However, this simple system can be difficult to implement due to often conflicting requirements and limitations. This paper describes the process by which Jaguar provides an optimal charging system for its vehicles, and concentrates upon the simulation tools used to enhance this process and allow components specifications to be fixed as early as possible in the design process
