Abstract
To successfully re-engineer the supply chain a process flow oriented methodology is required. All aspects of re-engineering must be included including the technology, the financial system, the people and the organisational structure. By maximising the scope of any re-engineering the full potential for the integrated, or extended enterprise, will be realised. The paper considers systems engineering and business process re-engineering of manufacturing systems
