Abstract
A compact multi-band internal antenna has been proposed for the application of global positioning system (GPS), and wireless local area network (WLAN). The antenna comprises a planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) in conjunction with a parasitic element. Two examples, including a dual band antenna covering GPS and WLAN 2.4 GHz and a triple band antenna covering WLAN 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz and 5.8 GHz, have been presented to validate the concept of the antenna.
