Case Study on Virtual Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine

This paper focused on introducing the construction of Virtual Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (VITCM). Funded by National High Technology Research and Development Program ("863"Program) of China (No.2006AA01A122), VITCM organized 35 TCM universities or institutions and more than three hundred professionals to build databases jointly, and firstly developed the database technical specification, operating rules and remote management mode of TCM scientific database. Now, VITCM have realized online staff monitoring, data security management and user authority control. Under the control of the virtual management, VITCM established the different management system of data processing, primary reversion and final revision, and achieved the goal of barrier-free telecommuting.
