Abstract :
Parameter identification of an induction motor (IM) at standstill based on Recursive Least Squares (RLS) essentially requires the derivative terms of the stator voltages and currents. However, the use of the analog or digital differentiators will greatly increase the complexity of identification algorithm and reduces the system reliability. In this paper, a simple parameter identification algorithm based on vector constructing method is proposed which does not employ the analog or digital differentiators. It has been proved in this paper that the identification results just relate to the magnitudes and phase shift angle of the fundamental stator voltage and current. Therefore, the derivatives of the stator voltages and currents can be constructed which are easily obtained by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis. And then, four electrical parameters of the IM are simultaneously estimated using single-phase AC test on the basis of the RLS technique. The presented simulation and experimental results have demonstrated the validity and the feasibility of the proposed method.
