Abstract
Cables containing water trees have some detectable discharges prior to breakdown. Indeed, the lower the breakdown strength the longer the period of discharging before breakdown. A cable containing water trees provides a sample which is likely to have discharging sites prior to breakdown. This paper describes how a discharging site was monitored, located and examined
