Abstract :
The authors have demonstrated optical control of stimulated forward Raman-like scattering by ARs in highly nonlinear PCF. The results show that ARs can be optically controlled using pump light with engineered amplitude envelope, spectrum and phase. The control techniques demonstrated can be utilized to realize optically-controllable/switchable all-fiber acousto-optic devices, e.g., frequency comb generators and mode- locking elements in fibre lasers.
