Abstract :
A broadband monopole antenna is proposed. A parasitic non planar thin conductive element is placed in parallel with the monopole. More than 40% impedance bandwidth (for S11>;10-dB) at 2.97-4.34 GHz frequency band is achieved with the above monopole. The gain for the loaded structures is 3.6 dBi. It is also observed that there is no significant change in efficiency, despite of high bandwidth and mutual coupling effect of the parasitic element.
