Abstract :
To research the subdivisions of mesh about the semi-elliptic surface crack and stress intensity factors, this paper founded finite element model by simulating the semi-elliptic surface crack of the super-strength steel in FEM Analysis, the crack region is subdivided using a mapped mesh while the automatic tetrahedral mesher is used in the region outside the crack region, this example is also illustrating the method of local refinement. We get the J-integral value by simulating the stress situation on the crack tip, and calculate the stress intensity factors. By comparing the simulating result with the theoretical result, it has proved that the method of the subdivisions of mesh and mesh density in this research has better accuracy, and J-integral value which obtained in FEM Analysis is calculated to get the stress intensity factors, which has a better stability.
