Abstract :
Photoexcited changes in near-surface electromechanical properties of some dielectric crystals are investigated. A consistent semiphenomenological model treatment, based on microscopic considerations, is proposed. The model, being a general scheme, is well suited for treating phenomena conditioned by locally induced displacements of determined symmetry, including those associated with phase transitions
