Abstract :
Based on classical electromagnetic theory, the electromagnetic separation calculation model and the formula of electromagnetic body force have been established. Theoretical results indicated that the frequency, current density and electric conductivity can influence the effect of electromagnetic separation. The effects of electromagnetic body force on the microstructure of Al-Si alloy were given in detail using the formula of electromagnetic pressure. It can be found that non metallic inclusions of Si phase tend to aggregate on the surface under the electromagnetic body force.
