Abstract :
The inevitable heat release in the active elements is one of the fundamental problems limiting the power of a laser. This release leads to the thermally induced (due to photoelastic effect) depolarization of radiation, i.e., to change in radiation polarization from point to point of the cross section. Results of an experimental research of depolarization at the high thermal loadings in a cubic crystal with [110] orientation are submitted in this work.
