Abstract :
Using rigorous analytical treatment by implementing Maxwell´s electromagnetic field equations, a description is presented of the transmission characteristics of liquid crystal tapered optical fibers having radially anisotropic liquid crystal clad. Power confinements indicate the maximum power to be in the outermost section, the phenomenon that would be of great importance in optical sensing applications.
