Abstract :
Based on the irrelevant classic model of natural resource and environmental pollution, two kinds of coupling relationship between natural resource and environmental pollution are introduced and a coupled dynamic model is developed. One coupling relationship is the extra death due to environment pollution besides natural death, and the other coupling relationship is the dependence of self-purification capacity on the quantity of natural resource. Simulation and mathematical analysis of the coupled model show that the type of bifurcation structure should be swallowtail catastrophe. The economic meanings of catastrophic characteristics are investigated.
