Abstract :
The author discusses the theoretical and experimental analysis of a TEM multi-wire transmission line, designed in order to generate low frequency electromagnetic fields (up to 30 MHz) well-suited for susceptibility measurements on aircraft. The experimental analysis has been performed by measurements on a 1:20 scale model. The analysis of the horizontal polarisation multiconductor shielded lines (HMCS) has shown an efficient field generation is obtained starting from arbitrarily low frequencies, contrary to the case of standard antennas. Moreover, the HMCS allows the low power radiation in far field, so that potential health or interference problems in nearby areas are controlled when performing high intensity radiated field tests
