Abstract :
This paper deals with the effect that the main rotor and tail rotor have on radar return signal from an armed helicopter, and analyses and computes the modulation condition of an armed helicopter main rotor and tail rotor in detail. A scaled model of the rotors was elaborated by accurate design according to the actual shape and size of the rotors. Based on the above study, a new method to identify an armed helicopter by using the modulation spectrum of radar return signal is put forward according to the modulation law and characteristics of the main rotor and tail rotor
