Abstract
A new type of controlled electron detector based on the emission of thermalized ionization electrons from nonpolar dielectrics is discussed. The designs of such emission devices, their characteristics, and fields of their use are considered. Particular attention is given to the electroluminescence camera, the emission streamer chamber, the emission chamber with gas amplification and the control of electronegative impurities
