Abstract :
For wavelet transferred image, there is great relevance between sub-bands with the same direction but different resolutions. A considering to this characteristic, this algorithm adopts diverse error thresholds as well as searching steps when fractal searching is made. Great searching steps along with small error thresholds apply to high frequency sub-bands, while the contrary is suitable for low ones. The experiment results show that compression rate is largely increased by this algorithm and the speed of encoding without reducing SNR and quality of decoded images, which is superior to the traditional wavelet coding algorithms.
