  • Abstract
The authors have realized a novel detector with only one sample, allowing the measurement of the space charge injection onset with a better precision. The measurement and the data processing are fully automated using a personal computer. The fully automated charge detector allows the study of the nonlinear evolution of the charge as a function of voltage in the 10-15 to 10-14 C range. Under constant stress, it is possible to record the time evolution of the injected space charge. The characteristics of the system and the first results obtained on polyethylene samples are described
