Abstract :
The charge distributions in an organic photoconductor (OPC) which had been used for an electrophotographic receptor were measured in order to obtain the behavior of the charges in OPC using the pressure wave propagation method. The charge distribution is obtained from the measurement of displacement current in the material while the pulse pressure wave passes through the material. The sample was polyethylene terephthalate (PET) coated with an OPC layer. The motion of charges in OPC was observed under conditions of DC voltage application and of light exposure. The experimental results indicated that the charges on the OPC surface moved into the interior of the OPC and were accumulated at the interface between the PET layer and the OPC layer with light exposure. Different behaviors of the charges on applied voltage polarity were observed
