  • Abstract
The paper presents an original solution for the development of a monitoring system for the solar UV radiation, having the necessary functions to inform the population of the UV solar radiation levels, as instantaneous values. Moreover the data supplied by the system can be the base of long term studies on solar radiation levels. The paper also contains experimental data obtained during the conception and testing phases of the proposed solution. Lately, the UV radiation levels have become a major problem for the majority of the countries, a fact that imposed an earlier and active involvement in finding a solution for this problem. This led to the birth of similar devices on the international market. The main purpose of the development of this monitoring system was to offer the local market a cheaper but similarly complex device with the ones from the international market. The purposed monitoring system contains particular functions with customization possibilities and offers the later solution of a multi-point network system with server based data management.
