Abstract :
The depolarization phenomena in acrylate-butadiene-styrene (ABS) was characterized. The thermally stimulated current spectra of ABS samples have been analyzed as a function of processing and printing. All samples show two intrinsic relaxation modes. The low temperature mode has been attributed to the dielectric manifestation of the glass transition of acrylic sequences. The compensation diagram can be used to define the structure and the microstructure of the acrylic phase. The high temperature mode is viewed as a consequence of the glass transition of the styrene-butadiene copolymeric sequences, i.e., the restructuring of water molecules. Unlike the preceding mode, the kinetics of this depolarization is dependent upon the thermodynamic history and the microstructure of samples. As for the intermediate temperature mode, it has been attributed to additive and/or ink solvent used for printing
