Abstract :
Based on data of innovation activities in mainland China from 2002 to 2003, we analyze the efficiency of technological innovation of all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions by data envelopment analysis. The results show that R&D (research and development) efficiency of technological innovation is much higher than economic efficiency, which means the direct achievement is much greater than its economic impact. And majority of relatively inefficiency results from scale inefficiency and minority is from pure technological inefficiency.
