Abstract :
The power converters for EV, HEV and FC-EV are required the compact and light weight performance. On the other hand, the boost converter has applied in the HEV to obtain the higher power and efficiency motor drive in recent years. This means that the additional boost converter for the HEV has to achieve high power density performance. Conventional multiphase boost converter can reduce output capacitor size. However, the number of inductor is increased compared to single boost converters. One of the effective solutions for the hurdle is the trans-linked multiphase technique which can reduce magnetic components. This paper presents a novel trans-linked multiphase boost converter for the HEV. The operation characteristics of proposed trans-linked multi-phase boost converter are discussed with simulation and experimental results. Furthermore, the design optimization of coupled inductor on trans-linked multiphase boost converter to realize the light weight and compact performance.
