Abstract :
The fiber optics transmission systems have been used extensively for realizing communication and intercommunication links within the public telephonic network, but lately the fiber optics has entered the vehicles´ field. Let´s define a new concept of vehicles cabling, which includes two categories: (i) classic cabling, destined for large currents (tens of A); (ii) optical cabling, destined for the communication between transducers and the board computer or the vehicle´s driver. With regards to the second concept, there are several types of fiber optics network which use smart sensors and actuators.
