Abstract :
At frequencies below which a screened enclosure can be made anechoic (say 100 MHz) several different energy propagation mechanisms may exist. These are dominated by the presence of the screened enclosure walls, and the operation of an antenna inside the enclosure is different to the operation of that antenna in a free space environment. The calibration of antennas in these circumstances cannot be performed in isolation. If the antenna is to be used for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) measurements (radiated emissions or radiated immunity), the antenna-enclosure combination must be calibrated as a whole. The authors discuss radiated emission measurement techniques for such a set-up
