Abstract :
Instead of just offering connectivity for their customers, public network carriers are seeking ways to add value to their transport services. Next-generation networks (NGN) tie together telecom and IP networks enabling new convergence services which are potential sources of revenue for carriers and service providers alike. Location-based services (LBS) are an example of such services. This paper presents an example convergence service, which is location-aware call transfer using JAIN SCF. Suggested solution consists mainly of JAIN SCF server/application, indoor WLAN positioning system, and telephone switching centre. The reasoning and benefits of this solution are presented
