Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to show standardization activity in ITU-T SG16 with respect to QoS. The ITU-T SG16 has defined an architecture and framework that permits H.323 applications to request and acquire QoS for its applications in multi-provider networks. This document provides a brief look at that architecture and framework. The H.323 QoS effort is independent of but complementary to the QoS architecture, mechanisms and tools supported in the network domain. The intention is that irrespective of the QoS mechanisms deployed in the network, H.323 applications can negotiate and acquire QoS from the network end to end
