Future trends in the development of batteries for telecommunications and electronic apparatus

Abstract :
The conditions required to produce small, sealed primary and rechargeable batteries with high energy densities and high cyclabilities and the future trends regarding such batteries are discussed. Batteries are classified as: (1) primary batteries (dry cell), such as Zn/ZnCl2-NH4Cl(-H2O)/MnO2, C; (2) secondary batteries (rechargeable batteries), such as PB alloy, Pb-PbSO4/H2SO4 (-H2O) PbSO 4-PbO2, Pb alloy; and, (3) fuel cells, such as H 2, C-Pt/H3PO4(-H2O)/C-Pt, O 2. Present battery compositions are considered. Electrolytes with higher decomposition voltages and ionic conductivities are being developed. Some recent progress in this area is described, active materials in batteries out outlined, and new battery development considerations are discussed
