Abstract
The author presents the results of 15 years of field experience with the AT&T Lineage 2000 round cell. Float behavior of the cell is covered in detail. A postcorrosion problem as well as the resolution of the problem are described. The influence of microporous polyethylene separators on cell float characteristics is discussed. Actual field performance is compared with predictions made from accelerated testing.
