Abstract :
This paper describes the real-time implementation of a time-domain method to calculate the power quantities based on IEEE 1459-2000 for single-phase systems under sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal conditions. The proposed method is based on recursive implementation of Park transformations for the detection of fundamental and harmonic components of voltage and current. The technique employs a recursive algorithm that avoids the low-pass filtering stage which causes uncertainty and delay in the conventional Park transformation based approaches making real-time measuring of the quantities possible with very good accuracy and reduced delay. The performance of the method is confirmed by simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and selected results are presented. Moreover, the proposed technique is implemented on a PC-based instrument in order to investigate its accuracy in the presence of measurement transducers.
