Abstract
Driver monitor systems have attracted the attention of researchers in the last decades, where face localization and face detection are essential process for the whole system. Various methods have been proposed to approach this problem. Background suppression is an important stage to make the face localization process faster and more reliable. Here we propose a novel multiple channel imager based background suppression method, which outperforms the conventional pulsed active IR system at several aspects, such as simplicity of circuit, performance and avoidance of motion artifact.
