Abstract
A full-bridge parallel resonant converter (PRC) is analyzed as a practical circuit, including the transformer leakage inductance. The full-bridge PRC is analyzed for the discontinuous conduction mode of operation. The authors illustrate the worst case of resonant currents. Resonant currents are affected by another resonant condition consisting of the leakage inductance and the resonant capacitor. The experimental results obtained for a full-bridge PRC were consistent with predicted values. A switching power supply (48 V, 50 A) for communication equipment and a large power converter (750 V, 20 A) for industrial use were developed, and a high efficiency of 94% was obtained
