Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to define certain criteria for determining the reactive parameters of a converter input filter with reference to the commonest case, in which the latter consists of a simple L-C filter. Good design in such filters is essential for limiting the disturbances that the harmonic currents generated by on-board power electronic converters may set up in ground signalling equipment and the repeater system on board locomotives transmitting information on the state of the permanent way
