Abstract
In this paper, a World-Wide-Web (WWW) based man-machine interface (MMI) for harmonic filter design in industrial distribution systems is developed. In order to implement the harmonic filter on the Internet, the languages of Microsoft(R) Active Server Pages (ASP) and VB Script are utilized. Generally, ASP is used to provide a framework for using existing script languages in an HTML page. Therefore by using ASP and VB Script together, the filter-design MMI in the WWW-based environment can be implemented. The proposed MMI is designed to choose the harmonic filter automatically, and can show useful data for harmonic filters. A case study shows that the proposed method is an attractive application in the real world
