Abstract :
Nera in close co-operation with the PTTs of Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, has carried out propagation measurements on three paths in the Harare-TeteBlantyre radio-relay system (REG024). Since very few propagation measurements have been conducted in this area previous, there has been a need for measured results to improve the accuracy of system planning. The intention with the propagation measurements was to investigate the local propagation conditions and compare with the ITU-R propagation models. The measurement period lasted from April 1991 until July 1992. The three paths were chosen because they represent typical paths in the area and varies in length (54-112 km), frequency (2-7 GHz), diversity arrangements (frequency, space, hybrid and full space) and a transmission capacity (34-140 Mb/s)
