Abstract :
The authors introduce new technology for passive cooling of electronic equipment enclosures. The novel approach is simplistic and based on proven technology and does not pollute the atmosphere or require the use of electricity or the burning of fossil fuels. Details of the successful prototype vacuum panel heat exchanger (VPHE) and test rig are outlined together with the methodology for thermal performance testing. The latest developments in VPHE equipment room design integrated with high thermal storage density phase change material are discussed
