Abstract :
The Reed-Solomon decoder based on the modified Blahut procedure is proposed. This decoder provides error correction beyond half the minimum code distance. An architecture of a searcher for unknown discrepancies is given. This architecture allows the implementation complexity of the decoder to be decreased considerably. The coding gain and implementation complexity of the proposed decoder are shown.
