Abstract :
Based on the computer-aided DC analysis of the zero voltage switching (ZVS) multiresonant power converter (MRC), a discrete nonlinear optimization technique is used to optimize resonant tank parameters of the halfwave buck and forward multiresonant converters, in the sense of minimizing the total loss of the tank including the transformer. Optimum design results are compared to those obtained by a tradeoff method and were verified by experiments. By using a discrete nonlinear optimization algorithm, the optimum resonant parameters are realizable and can be directly used in engineering practice
