Focusing on mental mapping, a man\´s mind, here, I begin with ghost in the shell, a Japanese fictional cartoon to paraphrase and explore the different map between Tokyo and Paris. If city is a shell, ghost as man\´s mind is injected in it. Such is my thinking about the system of the origin and my standpoint. In the word, according to time, natural shell and ghost is different from other, so the shell is different. Based on Arie Graafland "the socius of architecture" and as Soja said exploring both theoretically and practically the lifeworlds, the heterotopias, of Thirdspace. Above all I chronologize the Tokyo urban plan. Then, three parts will unfold to explain my points. Natural different shell-geography; Ghost and events-power of the layout and natural or social events; Death and life-destroy and construct. At last, go back to recent Japanese daily life to see the metropolis. Man in street (mental mapping)-real and imagined.
