Abstract :
AC resistivities and power losses of Mn-Zn ferrite have been investigated by electrical and magnetic measurements. The AC resistivity shows an inductive dependency on frequency for the low DC resistive samples or for highly DC resistive ones at high temperature, while a capacitive dependency on frequency was observed on the highly resistive materials around room temperature. These phenomena were interpreted by a concept stating that the AC resistivity consists of the DC resistivity, ∈ and μ, and its frequency dependence is determined by the magnitude of these elements at various measuring conditions. The dependency of the power losses of the DC resistivity, temperature and frequency was also analyzed by dividing it into loss factors. The power loss of low DC resistive materials is composed of hysteresis loss and eddy current loss. The frequency dependence of the power loss for highly DC resistive materials can be explained by the capacitive frequency dependence of the AC resistivity
