  • Abstract
Combining the advantages of the simplified method and FEM, a dynamic analysis model for the calculation of the large cylinder structures considering the accumulated plastic strain of soft soil under cyclic loads was developed. In the model, the large cylinder was divided into discrete rigid elements, and the ground soil was replaced by discrete 3D nonlinear spring dashpot systems. The characteristics of non-linear and accumulated plastic strain of soft soil were simulated by combining the equivalent linear model and D-P yield criterion. The ideal elastic-plastic characteristics of D-P model is imitated by letting the spring stiffness of the soil-spring equal to zero or a very small value when the soil-spring reached yield state, and added a constant force on the yield point. The application of the proposed method was illustrated by an example, and the results approached to the model experiment.
