Abstract :
The cooling characteristics of a radiant floor cooling system with the embedded pipes for an office building in Beijing had been researched mainly by experiments in this paper. The indoor air and floor temperature changed with supply water and outdoor temperature were tested and analyzed. The experimental results show that: 1) temperature of supply water plays a more important role on the characteristics of a radiant floor cooling system than water velocity and shall be controlled above 17 C to prevent condensation on the floor surface, 2) when the radiant floor cooling system is adopted, indoor mean radiant temperature and operative temperature are lower than air temperature respectively. 3)The vertical air temperature difference is about 2.1-4 1°C at the height of 0.1m to 1.1m above the floor and meets the related standard during 95% of 24 hours in a day.
