Abstract :
Electric power system have become very large and complicated. It has become very important to analyze the power system phenomena in particular on line, and to design new power apparatus and their controllers based on the analysis. From this point of view, three-phase instantaneous-value based real-time power system simulators (in particular digital type simulators) are becoming useful and effective tools. In general, however, they are very expensive and difficult for beginners to understand and use. Therefore, studies on low-cost and easy-use real-time simulators have so far been done. We have developed models of power system components for the real-time power system simulator using DSP (digital signal processor) by using commercial CAD (computer aided design) software “MATLAB/SIMULINK”. The use of commercial software can drastically decrease the cost of the development of a simulator. In this paper, the calculation features of MATLAB/SIMULINK based simulation are mentioned, and voltage source type and current source type models of generator are described
