Abstract
Administrative and technical documents, regardless of how well they are written, often fail to communicate to their intended users. The authors´ research confirmed that miscommunication is a problem and showed how to analyze and edit documents to ensure that meaning is communicated. The authors determine the elements necessary for clear communication, illustrate the results of miscommunication, and show writers how to ensure that meaning is communicated
