Abstract :
This paper presents a novel algorithm of scatternet formation after analyzes the influence of the piconets, communication links, and power level of devices on the performance of Bluetooth ad hoc networks. The new algorithm includes three stages which are choosing the master node, choosing the bridge nodes and constituting the communication links among devices to form the ad hoc network. The net formation principle and net formation process are presented thoroughly in the paper. The simulation shows that the new algorithm can optimize the number of piconets, decrease bridge loads, and also can decrease redundant communication links effectively which improve the performance of Bluetooth ad hoc networks.
