  • Abstract
The rapidly changing computer industry has made it imperative for systems engineers (SEs) to realize the importance of effective communication skills. The SE´s participation in system development and maintenance requires interaction with team members and customers within and outside of the organization. In addition to systems knowledge, problem solving, and programming skills, the SE needs good oral and written communication skills. The use of an appropriate product development methodology, a holistic view of the system, and effective communication skills can provide the SE with the necessary tools required to provide the best results
